Is This Really Immoral..?

In charity shops where I am from (a region of the U.K), many rich people donate their goods frequently.

Is it really immoral of me to buy DKNY handbags for a £1 and sell them on for £100?
(the items are normally in pristine brand new condition!)

I was thinking maybe I could donate 10% of my profits towards the charity, and start up a small Ebay business selling these designer goods?

Opinions please! x

I guess the fact that you are planning on donating some of the profits to charity doesn't make what you are doing wrong ... after all that's what charity shops are doing anyways although they are limited in how high they can put their prices (I used to work for British Heart Foundation and they had a set pricing structure so could only ever charge so much for some designer goods). However, you may find a lot of people will deem this as immoral simply because they don't agree with it. There are some funny people in the world am afraid.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it because you're purchasing it from a charity shop in the first place, selling for a higher price and then donating some of your profits to said charity shop. That way they are getting double the donation in a manner of speaking.

I wish you all the best :)

What to get twins for there birthday?

it doesnt matter what you do w/ it. but it does sound kinda wrong. i guess you are spending time to sell it and you are donatin a portion of it too. if you are asking whether it’s immoral or not, it must be slightly inmmoral to you. lol

    could you answer mine??

No, your money is still going to charity
If charity shops work the same way there as they do here…
But donating profits would be nice of you

I’d say you should donate a bit to charity. Obviously the kind ladies in the charity shop don’t really know the value of the bags – perhaps you could insist on paying twice what they are selling them for. I do think it’s a good idea to donate 10 per cent to charity – like World Vision or somewhere – that way you’re not the only one benefiting from it.

I don’t think it’s immoral at all, you’re helping charity, if you didn’t buy the items somebody else would for the same price, so it makes no difference.

It would be a nice thing to donate 10% to charity if you’re able too aswell.

    Good luck with it all

There is an old saying that goes like this "Business is Business". Morals seem not to apply. I go to High street stores that use "Slave Labour" to produce goods, as do millions of other people do. So we are all guily of doing what is simular thing. so, it’s up to you.

    oh baby!!!!
you are so bad make sure they bury you in your bikini coz where your going its gonna be HOT!!!!

only joking, its not immoral at all, the charity shop sets its price and you buy, then it is yours! what you do with it is then your perogative. if you wish to make a donation on any profits you make that sounds a pretty admirable thing to do!
the charity will get a second income from the one item.
    Good luck xx
